My friends and family know that I love to spend time getting messy in the kitchen. Many hours have been spent perfecting muffins & cupcakes (still a struggle), breads & pull-aparts, and, of course, savory dishes! I figured I may as well spread the love when it comes to recipes, what I’m working on currently, some of my successes (and major failures) when it comes to my work in the kitchen.
Last night I went to add to my frozen bananas when I realized that section of my freezer was full. Naturally, I decided to make a banana bread. Now, there’s a story to my favourite recipe for banana bread.. I keep finding a new one each time I make it – because I can’t for the life of me find the one that I used a few years ago when I first started baking. Every time I use a new recipe I forget to save it… -_- I know what you’re thinking.. But this time is different! I remembered to bookmark the page AND now I’m blogging about it. I couldn’t possibly forget this recipe, could I?

The only change I made to this recipe is that I used 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt instead of the sour cream because I didn’t have sour cream!
If you knew me, then you’d know that I rarely do anything half-assed. SO here’s the second bread I decided to make…
Apple Cinnamon Bread

I had to replace the apple sauce and canola oil with butter because I didn’t have apple sauce. After searching the internet for a few minutes trying to find a substitute for apple sauce I gave up and reverted to butter, which is what was probably replaced with apple sauce and canola oil in the first place.
Don’t they both look completely scrum-diddly-umptious?!?! Needless to say the diet will be slightly on the back-burner whilst this bread is consumed.. so, obviously, I’ll be back on track by… Thursday? Has anyone else been baking lately? Any triumphs or disasters you’d like to share?? Comment with a link back to yours so I can take a look!
Hope you all have a lovely week 🙂
